Suction cup failed on multiple occasions, the glue on the holder's pads melted and damaged my phone and my vehicles dashboard. The arm eventually separated at the joint and now is a complete useless pile of junk in just under 6 months.
Suction cup base does not stay stuck on the windshield very well, rubber is to stiff.
I went inside, and it stuck fine to my bathroom mirror. I have the samsung blackjack II as stated before me, this covers the input jack, so I can't connect my phone to the car stereo, nor charge it.Biggest problem, the cup does not stick to the windshield. I tired it in all 3 of our cars, did not work in any or them. So I have to assume it doesn't work in the cold. Living in Michigan, that means I could only use this thing for half the year.I'm buying something else.
The price is right and you need a cradle. The phone can not be set in the cradle as pictured on the item page AND connected to power (which in all fairness is NOT pictured or implied).
It sticks to the windshield and holds the phone. What can I say.
If you intend to use your phone's GPS, be prepared to reach out to hold that thing steady when you are trying to read details from the screen, which are difficult enough to read WITHOUT the phone bouncing around.Perhaps the only minor annoyance is the interference of the cradle with the location of the power jack on my BlackJack II. As with any contraption such as this, there's the issue of getting a good seal on the glass with the suction cup.no more problems than usually experienced.
Bumps and potholes get the cradle bouncing pretty good, but the only time my seal's been broken is with me trying to adjust the position of the phone. BUT, The foam padded cradle grips are so secure and hug the sides of the phone so snug that the BJII can be set in a "floating" position to allow free access to the power port.
This is a smart buy.
The item arrived on time and new but its not for i617. the side clips hides the left usb charging port so in order to use it while charging, you need to close the clips before the phone "sits" all the way down which makes it wobble al the time while driving.
